ਸਮਝ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਈ,
ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਚੱਲੇ ਸੀ।
ਕੱਟ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ ਦਿਨ ਮਾਸੂਮੀਅਤ ਨਾਲ,
ਸਾਨੂੰ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਝੱਲੇ ਸੀ।
ਲੋੜ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ,
ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਸੀ।
ਮਤਲਬ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ,
ਹੋਣੀ ਸਾਡੀ ਵੀ ਬੱਲੇ ਬੱਲੇ ਸੀ।
ਕਦਰ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਨੀਂ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਦੀ,
ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਜਬਾਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਠੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਸੀ।
ਸਮਝਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਬੇਕਸੂਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ,
ਕੀੜੀਆਂ ਮਰਦੀਆਂ ਆ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਥੱਲੇ ਸੀ।

I was reading this slowly and one thing kept coming in my mind. Sometimes poems leave too much for the reader to figure out, and maybe thats the whole point, but I still felt a few lines could connect easier. Maybe different people will read it in completly different ways. I actually had to go back and read some parts again before it started making sense. Not saying its wrong, just sharing how it felt from my side.
